We've made a great start in term 2 already, Jaxon has been eager to learn new things and has been enjoying the hands on activities. So far his favourite part has been using different objects for measurement, here we traced his foot and cut them out, then measured different things with them. We measured how many of his feet tall he was, then he wanted to measure his siblings as well.
Learning about safety and what that all can entail, we went around the house and he showed me things that can be dangerous.
We had some fun outdoor playtime in the snow for a couple days!
Christmas has been in full swing around our house since November 30 when we went to Aldor Acres to get our tree. We also got to warm up by the fire, see the farm animals and get candy canes.
We made Rudolph by painting paper plates, then traced their hand prints and cut them out for the antlers. Then glued on the nose and eyes, Jaxon was helping his little brother glue on his reindeer face too- he's always wanting to help his younger siblings.
We also made an 'Olaf' snowman out of a sock! The kids helped to stuff it, Jaxon used the hot glue gun (with Mommy's supervision of course) and helped to glue the faces on.
This craft was super simple, stringing beads on pipe cleaners but Jaxon came up with the patterns all on his own- doing a different pattern for each candy cane he made.
The kids painted their own canvas in the colour they chose, once it was dry I glued yarn in a tree shape and they then glued green sequence to the middle!
We had a morning of baking and decorating Christmas cookies with Jaxon's Grandma! We've done this every year since he was born, we love Christmas traditions and special family time!
The kids also got a visit with Santa and an early Christmas present!
